Kupwara, December 15: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din alongwith senior officers of District Administration today participated in the Mega Block Diwas programme held at Zachaldara block of Kupwara district.
ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir;DDC Member Rajwar, Mir Suliman; ASP Handwara, BDC Chairperson Zachaldara, CEO, CMO, CAHO, Officers from Civil administration, besides, PRIs, Ex-servicemen and general public attended the day long Block Diwas programme.
Deputy Commissioner in his address said that a three tier Panchayati Raj system has been established for overall development of the people at all levels. He urged upon the people to participate in Gram sabhas for proper planning and development of their villages and to ensure genuineness of the works being executed.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the PRIs that their genuine developmental issues shall be resolved on priority.
Referring to grievances redressal, the Deputy Commissioner said that the doors of his office are open and he is personally hearing the public grievances on every Monday and Thursday in a week.
Regarding the District CAPEX Budget, the DC said that the Government has increased the district budget 3 times this year to ensure massive development of Kupwara district.
The DC said that all schemes of Jal Shakti have been approved in the district and every household of the district will get tapped water connection under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission by August this year.
He said a PHE project worth Rs.18 crore is coming up in Rajwar area which will provide uninterrupted drinking water supply to the inhabitants of this area.
He appealed to the people to come forward to get benefits under different Government welfare schemes and programmes.
He directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and ensure that all public grievances shall be redressed timely.
Deputy Commissioner also enlisted various development schemes and welfare programmes of the Government including Aap Ki Zameen Aap Ki Nigrani.
Earlier the DDC Member, Mir Suliman, PRIs and senior citizens projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.
District Officers also spoke on the occasion and replied to the queries raised by the public during the Block Diwas programme. They also gave thorough awareness of developmental schemes and welfare programmes of their respective departments.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner distributed tractors among 7 beneficiaries under the Fodder scheme of the Animal Husbandry department.
Block Diwas programme was also held at Sogam which was chaired by SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat. BDC Chairperson and officers attended the programme.
Block Diwas programme was also held at Mini Secretariat Tangdar in Karnah subdivision under the Chairmanship of SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather.
The people projected their developmental issues in the Block Diwas programmes and officers heard them patiently and assured for timely redressal of the issues raised.
