Srinagar, December 14:– A meeting of District Level Implementation Committee(DLIC) was held today under the Chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner(DDC), Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad here in his Office Chamber.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Deputy Director Employment, Mohammad Rauf, LDM, Abdul Majeed and Officers from DIC, JKEDI and other concerned departments.

The meeting held threadbare deliberations on the implementation of “TEJASWANI” scheme in the District and several cases of unemployed eligible female entrepreneurs of Srinagar district were brought before the Committee for approval.

The District Development Commissioner after detailed review approved 94 Project Proposals cases under TEJASWANI scheme of the eligible female entrepreneurs of Srinagar district.

After approval, the cases shall be referred to JKEDI for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report. Thereafter training shall be imparted to the beneficiaries at the district level before formal disbursement.

Highlighting the importance of the scheme, the Chairman DLIC said “TEJASWINI” scheme is aimed to provide financial assistance to young women entrepreneurs for setting up profitable self-employment ventures suited to their skill and training aptitude. He said the purpose of the scheme is also to empower and encourage young women of the District in the age group of 18 to 35 to start their business for income generation activities either in manufacturing, service, trading or small business to earn livelihood.

The DDC said activities covered under this scheme include Canteen and Restaurant, Crèche, Cyber Cafe, Beauty Parlour, Boutique/Tailoring, Fitness center, Yoga center or any other profitable activity of similar nature. The eligible potential female entrepreneur of the District shall be facilitated to avail financial assistance under Mudra loan to the extent of Rs 5 lakh.

It was also given out that the scheme partner shall extend the loan facility to the extent of 100% of the project cost under the scheme. Mission Youth shall provide an amount of Rs. 50,000 or 10% of the project cost as a special incentive (subsidy) towards the loan account of the beneficiary under the scheme.

The DDC exhorted upon the Deputy Director Employment and other concerned to screen the remaining applications and bring more progressive women entrepreneurs under the ambit of the scheme by disseminating awareness so that more and more aspiring women entrepreneurs are brought under the scheme.

Pertinent to mention that under TEJISWINI scheme 10 cases have already been already forwarded to the banks for disbursement.
