Jammu, December 14: Office of the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) Jammu has refuted the allegations levelled in a news report published in a section of print media on 11th December 2021 with subject Gadbad Gotala Rs. 78.63 Lakh paid to 72 ‘non-existent migrant families in Jammu.

The Commissioner clarified that the Cash assistance to Jammu Migrants is being disbursed through DBT mode from PFMS portal directly into the account of beneficiaries on the basis of requisitions submitted by the Territorial Tehsildars in the Office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) Jammu.

The arrears for the period were distributed by the then concerned Deputy Commissioner/Tehsildars on the basis of the record maintained by them on the directions of Supreme Court vide Government Order No. 68 R&R of 2016 dated 15.11.2016 and the funds were transferred to Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ramban and Udhampur.

It has been baselessly alleged that there is no information about KPs who have returned to Kashmir Valley in the year 2008. Three families have returned to Kashmir Valley under the title Prime Minister’s Package for Return and Rehabilitation of Kashmir Migrants vide Government Order No. REV/MR/141 of 2009 dated 26.10.2009, on the sanction of Government of India an amount of Rs. 7.50 Lacs each were given to these families in three phases. It is pertinent to mention that as of now 5838 youths have been appointed under PM’s Package in various departments in different districts of Kashmir Valley and for them construction of 6000 transit accommodations in all the districts of Kashmir Valley is under process out of which some blocks at Wandhama Ganderbal and Fatehpora Baramulla are almost complete and at rest of the locations works have been tendered out also the newspaper has printed that cash assistance of Rs.2500 person per month subject to the maximum of Rs. 10000 per family is being provided to Pandits which is baseless and false, as at present cash assistance of Rs.3250 per person per month with the ceiling of Rs. 13000 per family is being transferred directly into the account of beneficiaries.

As such the allegations leveled against the Organisation are baseless and false. Hence a rebuttal is issued in this regard.
