Mandi, December 10: A mega enrolment drive was today launched in Mandi zone of Poonch district to bring the out of school children and dropouts to the schools.
The campaign was attended by a large number of students, teachers and people from different walks of life. The education department team encouraged the people to enrol their children in government schools to avail quality education imparted by the highly qualified teachers and the benefits in the form of scholarship, Mid Day Meal, Free Books and Uniform being provided to the eligible students. On this occasion, Zonal Nodal Officer Anwar Khan interacted with the people and informed them about various flagship programs of the Education Department.\
The enrolment awareness programs are being launched run not only to attract school dropouts and out of school children but also students who choose private schools over public schools. In this regard, a rally was taken out from Government Middle School Datigala which culminated at border village Kheat.
Meanwhile, Nodal Officer Anwar Khan, Principal, Higher Secondary School, Sawjian informed the people about the benefits of education and the facilities being provided in government schools.
The enrolment drive was attended by teachers and students from more than 15 schools of the area. Among those who addressed the people were Muhammad Yaseen, Majeed Rathi, Shagufta Lone, Tazeem Akhtar and Asadullah.
