Rajouri, December 08: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today chaired a meeting to discuss the promotion of entrepreneurship initiatives launched under Mission Youth.

The DC Rajouri called for effective implementation of the initiatives of the Mission Youth. He said that the basic aim of Mission Youth is to provide a platform to the youth of the district to share their thoughts, suggestions and raise their issues and grievances in an organized manner.

Officer on Special Duty, Mission Youth Dr Abdul Khabir held detailed deliberations on the successful implementation of various entrepreneurship initiatives of the Mission Youth including Tejaswini, Tourist village network, Mumkin, Rise together besides other initiatives.

The DC informed that the District has identified over 16000 youth from various Panchayats for encouraging them to set up their own ventures under Self- Employment schemes. A plan of action is being framed for counselling of the youth for self-employment based on their area of interest.

Stressing on tapping local potential, the DC said that the District Administration Rajouri is going to establish 5000 dairy units in the district to promote milk and milk products under the ODOP scheme and Mission youth shall also contribute towards achieving this goal.

District administration Rajouri has also set the target of clearing 15000 Self-employment cases till March 2022 to provide ample opportunity to unemployed youth of the district to set up their ventures, the DC informed.

He further said that the District Administration has also decided to constitute 640 Cooperative societies and Mission Youth shall play a pivotal role towards the same.
