Jammu, December 08: A three Day UT level Kala Utsav-2021 under Samagra Shiksha commenced at Teachers’ Bhawan, here today.
Thirty six students from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir including 18 from each division are participating in the event to showcase their talent in different art forms. Of these, 18 students will be shortlisted for the National level event which is scheduled to be held from January 1 to January12, 2022 in virtual mode.
The competition will be held in nine categories of art forms with one male and one female contestant in each category.
The programme is being conducted under the overall supervision of Project Director, Samagra Shiksha- Deep Raj. Director School Education Kashmir- Dr.Tassaduq Hussain Mir was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session.
The programme started with lighting of the traditional lamp by the dignitaries. Administrative Officer-Samagra Shiksha, J K Padha formally welcomed the guests, teachers and students.
Project Director, Deep Raj, in his inaugural address, apprised that Government of India has implemented several schemes to provide appropriate platforms to children to showcase their talents. He stressed upon teachers and parents to avail maximum benefit out of these schemes for the overall development of children. He reiterated that the focus of Samagra Shiksha is on imparting holistic and quality education integrated with Art, Culture, Sports and other domains as enshrined in the New Education Policy-2020.
Chief Guest, Dr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir also addressed the audience and congratulated all the participants for being selected at the UT level event. He also greeted the teacher community in general for putting in best efforts to make this event a grand success. He advised the teachers to motivate maximum students to participate in such events to avail exposure to art integrated education.
Among others who were present during the event were H. R. Pakhroo (Joint Director, DSEJ), Surat Singh Rathore (Chief Education Officer, Jammu) J. K. Padha (Administrative Officer-Samagra Shiksha), Syed Fayaz Ahmad (Coordinator-Quality) and other officers from Department of School Education.
