DDC Budgam holds public Darbar at Ichkoot

Budgam, December 08: Continuing with a public outreach programme, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today held a daylong public darbar at village Ichkoot in Budgam.

Panchayat members, village heads and general public from Ichkoot and other adjoining villages also attended the function, raised their issues and demands during the darbar.

After listening to the demands of the public, the DDC instructed concerned Revenue officers to identify land sites for the construction of sheep and animal veterinary facilities.

He also instructed a land site approximately 1 kanal should be identified near Kasai Mohalla where a facility of temporary slaughter house shall be established at village.He said the facility shall also be used for dumping of slaughtering waste to avoid pollution of canals and drains in the village.

On the occasion, a Gram sabha was also held where a resolution was passed that all the concerned panchayat members shall ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in their wards.

It was decided that the panchayat members shall collect sanitation fees from every household to ensure proper disposal of garbage and other waste material.

Emphasizing on proper sanitation, the DDC announced Rs. 1 lac reward to the best performing panchayat ward.

Besides locals from Ichkoot, the residents of Pushpora, Munpapai, Arampora and Sundergund were also present on the occasion. They raised their demands viz. tap water supply, link roads construction, main road connection with the Ring Road, school upgradation, facility of playground, improvement in LT and HT lines, transformers, garbage dumping facility, compensation for walnut and other trees, healthcare facility and demanded prompt redressal to their issues.

They also demanded release of withhold compensation of the land to the farmers whose land was acquired for the Ring Road project.

The DDC gave them patient hearing and instructed concerned to take note of all genuine demands to ensure prompt redressal to their grievances including tap water supply, improvement in the power supply, road construction, creation of Health and Wellness Centre and other demands.

The programme was attended by ACD, CEO, ACP, CMO, CAO, CHO, Ex. Ens from PDD, PHE, R&B, PMGSY, Irrigation, DSHO and other concerned officers and officials.
