Kulgam, December 04: Under the public outreach programme and to take first hand appraisal of issues and grievances of people for redressal, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited rural and far-off areas of Noorabad area of the district.
During the public outreach programme, the DC held interaction with the delegations of youth and a huge number of tribals. He listened to the issues and grievances raised by them for timely redressal.
The DC also interacted with the youth of the area who flagged-off several demands.
While interacting with youth and players, DC urged them to take up sports along with academics and channelize their potential by adopting constructive approaches.
He added that sports activities have a significant impact on the social and mental development of youth adding that games inculcate sportsmanship qualities, teamwork and discipline.
Dr Bilal added that through coordinated and concerted efforts sports infrastructure is being developed across the district and playfields have been developed in 160 panchayats in the district sofar.
He also announced additional Rs. 20 lacs for development of Sanyadi playfield. The playfield is under execution of Rural Development Department and is expanded over 67 kanals of land and today the first match was played in an already developed stretch of the field.
The DC also urged youth to avail benefits of various self-employment schemes of the Government.
SDM-Noorabad, ACR, ACD, BDO, Tehsildar and other officers were also accompanying the Deputy Commissioner.
