Progress of registration of unorganized workers on e-SHRAM Portal reviewed at Pulwama

Pulwama, December 03: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, today convened a meeting of DLIC members and reviewed the progress of registration of unorganized workers on the e-SHRAM portal.

The DDC emphasized on the need to expedite registration of unorganized workers on the e-SHRAM portal. He directed concerned officials to disseminate the benefits of registration among unorganised workers so that they are benefitted of the scheme.

The e-Shram registration will help to maintain the database of the unorganised workers which will be helpful in extending the benefit of social security schemes meant for these workers at ground level, he added.

During the meeting, it was informed that under this scheme unorganized workers like migrant workforce, construction labourers, domestic workers, milkmen, migrant workers, auto-rickshaw/truck drivers, fishermen, agriculture workers, Asha workers, Aganwadi workers, MGNREGA, Mid-day meal workers, Street Vendors, Platform workers etc  have to be registered so that they can derive benefit of this scheme.

It was also informed that the registrations for the scheme are free of cost and the workers do not have to pay any registration fees.

The meeting stressed to ensure 100 percent registrations of unorganized workers within the set timeframe.

He also directed the concerned officers to  go door to door in far flung areas and register the left out beneficiaries  on e- Shram. He solicited the support from PRIs.

Among others the meeting was attended by SSP, Pulwama and all the line departments and representatives of CSC.
