Srinagar, November 29: Continuing its efforts to register the left out Farmers of the district under Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, the District Administration Srinagar in collaboration with Agriculture Department and other allied departments today organised a series of awareness camps at different areas of district including Palpora in Qamarwari Block and Khimber in Panchayat Block Harwan.
The Awareness cum Enrolment Camps were organized on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad to provide Kissan Credit Cards to all left out farmers to ensure all beneficiaries are covered under the scheme so that they are entitled to the benefits of the KCC.
During the camps, farmers were sensitized about the process of registration and benefits of Kissan Credit Card scheme. A number of beneficiaries were also under the scheme on the spot.
Giving details about the enrolment of farmers under KCC, the chief Agriculture Officer, Srinagar, Chowdhary Mohammad Younis said that till date more than 14000 farmers have been registered under Kissan Credit Card Scheme in Srinagar.
Highlighting the objectives and benefits of KCC, he said Kissan Credit Card Scheme provides adequate, hassle-free and timely credit support from the banking system under a single window to the farmers.
The Officers of Agriculture Department, besides Horticulture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, NABARD, JK Bank Lead Bank, District Coordinator, EDB and officers of other line Departments were present on the occasion to ensure that all uncovered eligible Farmers/ beneficiaries are enrolled for having KCC.
