Jammu, November 23: Forest Rights Act, 2006 awareness camp was today conducted by Chairman Sub Divisional Level Committee Sunderbani here at Panchyat Marchola.

Bal Krishan, Chairman Block Development Council, Siot was the chief guest on the occasion.

The camp was organized by Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer Sunderbani.

In his address, the Chairman Block Development Council, Siot appreciated the efforts of Sub Divisional Level Committee, Sunderbani for conducting awareness camp about the Forest Right Act. He urged Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani to conduct more such camps so that people know how to get benefited from the FRA as well as “APKI ZAMIN APKI NIGRANI”.

Vinod Baniyal, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Sunderbani (Chairman Sub Divisional Level Committee, Sunderbani) gave a brief introduction about the Act and its implementation.

He explained in detail the procedure of filling an application Form to submission of the complete file to the Sub Divisional Level Committee for further consideration.

The ADC also threw light on “APKI ZAMIN APKI NIGRANI” and informed the people about the Land Record Information System through whic they can access their land record documents.

The awareness camp was attended by Sarpanch Marchola, Sukhdev Kour, all Panches of the Panchayat Marchola; members of Forest Rights Act Committee, Marchola; besides officers of revenue and forest department.

Later, Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer Sunderbani held an interactive session with members of PRI & FRC. He threw light on preparation of Forest Rights Act claim files for both individual and Community. He also told them about the required documents in support of both Community and Individual claims. He asked the members to fill all the community claims as early as possible so that they can be considered in Sub Divisional Level Committee for further submission to Divisional Level Committee.

The Block Forest Officer Sunderbani and Dharamsal/Devak, Gram Sava Marchola, Patwari concerned along with field staff was directed to prepare all the files as early as possible. Dr. Gurjinder Kour presented vote of thanks.
