Shopian, November 20: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today visited various areas of the district including Chotipora, Lahanthur, Meemander and New Colony Largam to take stock of the ongoing developmental works in these areas.
The DDC also listened to the grievances raised by the residents of these areas on the occasion. He emphasized upon the concerned executing agencies to complete all the ongoing works at an earliest and also stressed for providing immediate essential services to the people of the district.
Earlier, the DDC inspected Transit Accommodation for Migratory Employees at Sheikhpora Keegam Tehsil coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 23 Crores through R&B Division Shopian and directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of ongoing developmental works on top priority basis within stipulated timeframe.
Vaishya also made surprise inspection of Government Girls High School, Chotipora and checked the attendance. He directed for remaining punctual and also stressed for teaching the students with dedication and great zeal and zest.
En-route, DDC met the people of these areas who projected some of the demands and issues of vital importance to get them redressed as soon as possible.
The DDC listened to them patiently and assured for early redressal of their genuine demands and issues.
Later, the DDC inspected the ongoing construction work of Clock Tower Shopian and directed the Secretary Municipal Committee for its completion within the fixed timeline.
The DDC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, Assistant Director Planning, Secretary, Municipal Committee Shopian, Assistant Executive Officer, R&B, Block Development Officer and other concerned officers.
