DDC Doda directs for strict enforcement of approved minor mineral rates

Doda, November 18: District Development Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today asked for strict enforcement of rates of minor minerals notified by the district administration to keep check on overcharging by the stone crushers and other suppliers.

Chairing a meeting of the District Level Task Force Cell of the Geology and Mining, he called for taking strict measures to curb the illegal mining and overcharging by the suppliers of minor minerals in the district.

The DDC directed the District Mineral Officer to give wide publicity notified rates through social media, electronic media & print media and install big hoardings in all the Municipalities & Sub divisions for the public knowledge.

The DDC further directed the nodal department to ensure that the rate list in banner shape is permanently fixed at Crushers and leases, and identify the land for putting up check posts in coordination with the revenue department within two days.

Taking strong note of the poor enforcement, the DDC directed the DMO to furnish a daily report to his office with regard to the action taken against the illegal mining and violation by Crushers and transporters, seizures. He further asked the DMO to mobilize the teams constituted to curb the violations.

In addition to this, the DDC directed the Tehsildar Headquarter and DMO to come up with pamphlets highlighting the approved rates of minor minerals and numbers of all SDMs, SDPOs, SHOs, PCR, District Control room for public information and filing complaints.

The DDC also asked the GM NHIDCL and Ex En PWD to verify from their contractors about the prevalent market rates of minor minerals to know the ground position and accordingly action was taken against the offenders.

The meeting was attended by SP headquarters, ACR Doda, Tehsildar HQ, GM NHIDCL, DMO, AD Fisheries, Ex En PWD, Irrigation, besides Officials from forest and other departments were also present.
