Jammu, November 18: Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR), Nazim Z. Khan, today convened a meeting to review functioning of the department.
Secretary, while addressing the meeting, asked the field officers to adopt e-office system to ensure added efficiency and transparency in disposal of official business in-line with the spirit of Digital India. In this regard, he asked them to get all official records digitized in an expeditious manner.
He asked the concerned for creation of robust and verifiable data base of Kashmiri Migrants as well as of Displaced Persons (PoJK/WPR) to ensure transparency and security of legacy data. He also directed the Senior Consultants engaged under Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Strengthening of District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) of Hazard Prone Districts, identified Backward Districts and Emergency Response Support System to prepare the necessary documents and Standard Operating Procedures with regard to preparedness and effective management of natural calamities so that the general public could be made aware of the same.
Secretary, while terming construction of transit accommodation for PM Package Employees in Kashmir Valley under PMDP as a prestigious project of the department, asked the executing agencies to gear up their mechanism in order to complete the project in a time bound manner. He emphasized upon the officers to earnestly take up capacity building programmes as a pre-disaster measure.
Deputy Director (Planning) DMRRR, Lalit Bhat, made a Power Point Presentation highlighting activities and achievements of the department.
Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Special Secretary, DMRRR, Director Finance DMRRR, Chief Engineer PWD, PHE and PDD and other senior officers attended the meeting.
