Jammu, November 15: The State Steering Committee (SSC) met here today under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, to discuss revision of Institute Development Plans (IDPs) for 32 ITIs  under the scheme “Upgradation of 1396 Government ITIs through PPP” besides deliberating on other agenda points of the Committee.

Director Skill Development, Sudershan Kumar, highlighted  various issues regarding working of the Committee.

Threadbare discussion was held regarding approval of revision of IDPs of 32 ITIs of JKUT under PPP scheme besides other issues related to upgradation, introduction of trades and appointment of new Chairmen for ITI Kathua, ITI Kulgam and ITI Bhaderwah.

The SSC approved revision of IDPs of all 32 ITIs, upgradation and introduction of new trades besides deletion of trades as per revised IDP. Besides, appointment of new Chairmen of IMC ITI Kulgam and ITI Kathua was also approved.

The Committee also accorded approval to enhancement in salary of contract instructors at the rate of Rs. 14000 per month with an annual increase of 5%. Besides, revision of ISP of ITI Samba under STRIVE project was also approved.

Among others Additional Secretary SDD, Joint Director  Planning, Deputy Director SDD, Superintending Engineer PWD, Principal and Superintendents of ITIs attended the meeting online while Chairman IMC ITI Poonch, Secretary General Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CEO Jamaksh Vehicleades attended in person.
