Poonch, November 08: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the Physical and financial progress /achievements under Tribal Sub Plan in the district here at a meeting.

The DDC took a detailed review of the physical and financial status of different works, beneficiary oriented schemes and disbursement of scholarship under TSP among the eligible students.

Issues pertaining to bottlenecks in execution of works resulting in low expenditure were discussed in detail. The DDC directed the executing agencies to resolve issues. He asked the concerned Executive Engineers to gear up men and machinery to ensure time bound completion of all projects, so that benefits reach the targeted population.

The District Development Commissioner stressed on adhering to guidelines of tribal department while executing development works

He asked for consulting the District Development Council (DDC) while implementing the tribal plan. He also stressed on judicious use of funds under the tribal plan. He asked for incorporating all the three components i.e; 40% from Government of India, 30% from Tribal Department and 30% from UT Capex  while making expenditure.

The Chief Education Officer was asked to provide scholarship to all eligible students and ensure that now one is left out in the process.

Jal Shakti Department was asked to install new and repair existing hand pumps in tribal villages wherever required.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Abdul Sattar; Chief Medical Officer, G.A Malik; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Abid Hussain Shah, Chief Education Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Sheep  Husbandry Officer, Xen PWD, Xen PDD,,  District Tribal Welfare Officer,   besides other concerned officers.
