Anantnag, November 06: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad today chaired a meeting of District Level Implementation and Monitoring Committee regarding registration of unorganized workers on e-SHRAM portal.
The ADDC emphasized on the need to expedite registration of unorganized workers on the e-SHRAM portal. He directed concerned officials to disseminate the benefits of registration among unorganised workers so that they are benefitted of the scheme.
He also directed CSC operators to ensure that free registration is accessible for all workers. Directions were also passed to officials from Rural Development, Horticulture, Agriculture and other allied departments to expedite the registration of unorganized workers in their sectors.
A thorough deliberation was held regarding the eligibility criteria for registration and the benefits that can be availed from the scheme. The DDC and BDC members who attended the meeting apprised the chair that they will be organizing awareness camps in their respective areas to publicize the benefits of registering under the scheme.
Meanwhile, any unorganized worker who is not covered under EPFO, ESIC and is between 16-59 years of age is eligible for registration on the portal. They can also self register at eshram.gov.in.
The meeting was attended by CMO, ACD, ALC, DSWO, AD Handlooms and other senior officials of district administration. DDC members, BDCs and Sarpanches were also present.
