DC Reasi reviews preparedness of health department to control Dengue

Reasi November 05: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh today chaired a meeting to review preparedness of the health department to control Dengue in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital authorities to keep the hospital premises clean.

Charandeep Singh asked the health department to ensure that no dengue patient undergoing the treatment may face any difficulty in the hospital. He also shared that there was no shortage of blood platelets and required medicines for dengue treatment in the hospital.

He emphasized that dengue and other vector-borne diseases can be controlled with the cooperation of all other departments like PWD, Mines and Geology, Information, Transport, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Education Departments by working together.

The DC also asked the Food Safety Officers to conduct regular inspection of eatables in the city so that the people do not suffer on this account. He asked the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that the Dengue patients get proper and immediate treatment in District Hospital Reasi.

Charandeep Singh further asked the health department to spread awareness regarding the preventive measures and provide   best treatment to Dengue  patients.

Chief Medical Officer Rajeev Sharma said that out of 24 Dengue patients in the district reported till date, 18 have recovered and 06 are under treatment.

The DC asked for intensifying control measures  including IEC activities specially in Katra,  enhance   testing , conduct regular fogging, DDT and Temphos spray in the surrounding areas of the house of the Dengue positive patients, regular checking of Gambusia fishes and keep minimum five beds for Dengue patients.

Chief Medical officer, Rajeev Kumar Sharma; Medical Superintendent, Rajinder Kumar; District Health Officer S.D. Atri along with Medical Officers were present in the meeting.
