DC Reasi reviews progress of registration of unorganised workers on e-SHRAM Portal

Reasi, October 29: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh convened a meeting to review the progress of registration of unrecognized sector workers on e-SHRAM portal.

It was informed that the Ministry of Labour & Employment  has developed e-SHRAM Portal (www.eShram.gov.in)  for registration of construction and other workers with Aadhaar seeding and details about  occupation,  education, skill types, and family details for optimum realisation of their employebility and extend the benefits of the Social Security Schemes to them which is the first ever National database of unrecognised workers.

The DC emphasized that in future all Social Security Benefits to the unrecognized workers would be delivered through the portal even in emergency times like Covid pandemic.

The DC informed that Aadhaar number, mobile number (Aadhaar Card), bank account with IFSC Code of the applicant is required for registration. “After registering he or she will get accident insurance cover including Permanent disability of  Rs 2 Lakh and Rs. 1 Lakh for  partial disability.”

He further informed that any worker who has been working in unrecognised sector aged between 16-59years would be eligible to register on the e-SHRAM Portal.

Charandeep Singh directed the concerned to facilitate Pithu walas, palki walas and Self Help Group members to apply for registration.

Highlighting the benefits of registration, Assistant Labour Commissioner Roopali Gandotra said that e-SHRAM Portal would be a recognized database of unrecognized workers seeded with Aadhaar.

ADDC Jyoti Salathia,  PO ICDS Renu Kumari, ACD Anirudh Rai, CEO Municipal Committee Katra Preeti Sharma, CMO Rajeev Sharma, CEO Mohammad Aziz besides other district officers were also present on the occasion.
