Rajouri, October 21:  Functions were organised on Thursday at Associated Hospital & Government Medical College (AH&GMC) at Rajouri and Community Health Center (CHC) at Kotranka for the celebration of the milestone of 100 crore COVID-19 doses in the country.

India’s successful Covid vaccine drive has crossed the 100 crore milestone on Thursday.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi in a Tweet said: “India scripts history. We are witnessing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise, and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. Congrats India on crossing 100 crore vaccinations. Gratitude to our doctors, nurses, and all those who worked to achieve this feat.

In a special program which was organised at CHC at Kotranka in Kotranka Sub-District by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kandi Dr. Iqbal Malik congratulated all those associated with this drive and especially health & frontline workers of Kandi Health Block.

‘We salute our COVID Warriors, our healthcare and frontline workers who have worked day and night to help us achieve this Vaccine Century” said Dr. Iqbal.

Realising the vision of Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma and goals set by CMO Rajouri, Dr. Shamim Bhatti, heath teams in Kandi adopted a holistic approach to cover all the regions from markets to scattered houses in the villages and in the high mountain reaches, he added.

Continuous directions from Rajesh K Shavan, DM Rajouri remain extremely helpful during this whole exercise.

In order to commemorate the ‘100 crore vaccination day for Covid-19 throughout India’ a sensitisation –cum-awareness program was organised at AH&GMC by the Department of Community Medicines (DoM).

On this occasion, Dr,Brij Mohan, Principal GMC; Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent; and Dr. Syed Shuja Qadri, HoD, DoM highlighted the achievements & emphasis was aid down on achieving 100% Covid vaccination in Rajouri district.
