Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister on Wednesday said all Kashmiri people have  condemned the recent civilian killings by militants and demand  their arrest.

?All people completely and entirely condemned the recent civilian’s killings including the non-locals, as they believe it gives bad name to Kashmir,? Azad said, and added ? it is unfortunate not a single person involved has been arrested so far?.

?The militants have changed their strategy of killing people, earlier they were throwing grenades and planting landmines to target the civilians, but to kill someone from the point blank range is their new strategy ?, Azad said this while talking to the mediapersons at his residence.

He said Kashmiri people think ten times more than the common countrymen about the damage caused to the society by killing of a civilian is against humanity.

Mr Azad said we are seeing it for the past 32 years militants are killing civilians, but they need to be arrested and brought to justice.

He said killing of a Muslim, Hindu, non local , Pandit or Sikh by unidentified militants are condemnable and the responsible persons  should be arrested.

He said the outside workers are helping us in developing our economy by working in constructing roads and buildings. If they leave from here our economy will suffer and the work of progress will go down, he added.

He said the government of India should restore the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir which will help in tackling the militancy in the region.

?More and more people will come forward if the statehood is restored and it will help in tackling the militancy? he said and added ? rather to hold elections first will not help in any way? Ghulam added.

Azad  said, my intention was to visit every district of the valley to meet people, but due to recent developments I called the delegations from all parts of Kashmir to analyse the situation after recent killings.
