Jammu: A strong protest was held by the Congress Party at R.S. Pura under the leadership of Sh. Mohan Choudhary, Sr. Congress Leader, Suchetgarh (Vice President, DCC, Jammu Rural) in support of the farmers who are protesting against the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence in Uttar Pradesh.

A large number of farmers and congress workers participated in the protest. The protestors burnt the effigy of Modi Sarkar. The agitated farmers demanded the immediate resignation of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, whose son is involved in the violence.

While addressing the farmers Sh. Mohan Choudhary said that he whole world understands that no justice can be given if the minister whose son is being investigated continues to hold his chair. We are completely dissatisfied by the manner in which investigations are being conducted. He said that the red carpet arrest of the minister’s son who is the main accused in the incident has fuelled anger among the protesting farmers and added that the protest against the Lakhimpur violence would intensify if Ajay Mishra is not removed from his post.

Others who were present on the occasion were S. Bhupinder Singh, Ch. Joginder Lal,  Sh. Ajay Kumar, Sh. Gurdyal Singh, Capt. Ranjeet Singh, S. Lakhvinder Singh, Sh. Mohan Lal, Sh. Chamel Singh, Panch Waryam Lal, Sh. Sohan Lal, Sh. Kuldeep Kumar and others.
