Leh, Sep 13: Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur today attended a meeting with NITI Aayog which aimed to promote cooperative federalism and competitive evaluation. The meeting also reviewed progress of Central Government schemes being undertaken in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The Hon’ble LG acknowledged NITI Aayog for their important role in the development of Ladakh in devising Vision 2050 and approach to carbon neutrality.
He stressed on the need for a development map for each department of the UT, and stated that help from all Ministries for devising a developmental blueprint will prove vital in this regard.
The Lieutenant Governor further stated that the issue of highest priority in Ladakh remains that of covering the remaining 40 % area of Ladakh with tele-connectivity and stressed on the need for Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) connection as the only option.
Matters regarding release of funds as per Ladakh’s working season to achieve maximum productivity, enhanced interactions between the Ministries and concerned departments etc were also flagged by the Hon’ble LG.
The meeting was attended by Dr. VK Saraswat, member NITI Aayog, all Secretaries of UT Administration, concerned officials from GoI Ministries and other officials from NITI Aayog.
