July 23: In continuation to stringent actions against absconders, Baramulla Police have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest since 1997.

A Police party headed by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Syed Sajad Hussain-JKPS succeeded in arresting an absconder who was evading his arrest since long. He has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Maqbool Lone resident of Khadniyar, Baramulla. He was wanted by law for his involvement in Case FIR No. 34/1997 of PS Baramulla.

The arrested accused has been produced before Hon’ble Court where from he was shifted to jail.

It is pertinent to mention here that on 16/02/1997, case FIR No. 34/1997 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Baramulla against 02 accused including said absconder on the recovery of 04 Chinese Hand Grenades at Bus Stand Baramulla and the instant case was challaned against accused before Hon’ble Court on 06/03/1997. During the trial the said accused was declared as absconder by the Hon’ble Court.
