ADC chairs meeting to take stock of availability of essential commodities, arrangements in view of Ramadan

KARGIL, APRIL 12, 2021: On the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil Tsering Motup today chaired a meeting of the concerned district officers to take stock of the availability of essential commodities and necessary arrangements by the District Administration in view of the ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shabir Hussain, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Ruth Mary, Chief Medical Officer Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer PDD Altaf Hussain, Executive Engineer PHE Subhash Chander, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Dr Zakir Hussain, Accounts Officer to DC Kargil Ajaz Hussain, President Merchants’ Association Kargil Muhammad Yaseen besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The concerned officers briefed the ADC regarding necessary arrangements being put in place besides the status of the availability of essential commodities for the coming holy month of Ramadan.

The Deputy Registrar Cooperatives and President Merchants’ Association Kargil informed the meeting that there is requirement of milk, butter and egg in the district in view of the ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

The ADC while underlining the need to ensure availability of essential commodities before the opening of Zojila Pass especially in view of Ramadan stressed on the need for airlifting of milk, dates, vegetables and fruits to fulfill the demands of people. He stressed the officers concerned to take all requisite timely measures in this regard.

Meawnhile, the Chief Medical Officer briefed the ADC about the availability of medicines and healthcare facilities and said that there is adequate stock of such facilities in the district to meet people’s requirements.

In view of religious congregations in Ramadan, the ADC instructed the CMO to create awareness among the public to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) in letter and spirit so as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The ADC also instructed the concerned officers to make all necessary arrangements in a timely manner so that the people do not face any inconvenience.
