Jammu, Mar 25: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal and recovered a sharp edged weapons from his possession in Gharota area of Jammu.
In a statement issued to the news agency a spokesperson said that a police team of police stattion Gharota led by SHO Khyatimaan Khajuria while on naka duty at Kanger Talab rounded up a suspect namely Farman Ali son of Sher Mohammad, a resident of Keran Nala area of Jammu who was coming from Jammu on motor cycle.
“On being searched, a spring actuated knife (sharp edged weapon) was recovered from his illegal possession,” the statement reads.
It reads that a case FIR No. 20/2021 U/S 4/25 Arms Act was registered at police station Gharota and accused was arrested. “It is pertinent to mention here that the accused was earlier also booked in case FIR no. 17/2017 U/s 307/323/34 RPC of P/S Gharota and also in case FIR No. 388/17 u/s 341/323/ RPC 4/25 Arms Act of P/S Domana,” it reads.
