Kupwara, (Press Release): As part of skill development programme by JSS, four skill development centres were inaugurated to promote training of rural women in various skills.
These include two Cutting and Tailoring Centres in Kupwara town and Goose village, one Knitting Centre in Zangli village and one Crevalling Centre in Dogarpora, Kalaroos.
Event was marked by attendance of all stakeholders to include Dr Iqbal (Director, JSS, Kupwara), Mr Showkat Masoodi, Market President Kupwara, Sarpanches and village elders.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by more than 80 female students who will start training today onwards. The candidates were briefed about the benefits of these courses and importance of skills in development of women.
The inauguration ceremony was also complimented with small cultural program by the students and it received an overwhelming response from the villagers and they thanked the JSS officials and Humadard-E-Kupwara Battalion for this positive step.
“These centres are a nobel beginning and will go a long way in empowering and enabling the women of Kupwara” said Mr Showkat Masoodi, Market President.
The locals and civil administration also thanked the Army for its efforts in taking initiative in starting these centres. Overwhelming response and enthusiasm of these young skills women could be gauged by their bright smiles and energetic participation.
