76 police personnel, 42 health workers get COVID-19 vaccine jabs
KARGIL, FEBRUARY 16, 2021: The 1st phase of COVID-19 Vaccination for frontline workers started in Kargil today during which a total of 76 police personnel including officers and jawans were inoculated against COVID-19 on the first day of vaccination campaign held at District Police Lines (DPL), Kargil here today.
As per data provided by the Health Department Kargil, a total of 985 policemen including traffic police personnel are expected to be covered in this phase of COVID vaccination.
For smooth conduct of the vaccination process Deputy CMO Kargil Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Var, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr Muhammad Abass, Consultant Anaesthetist Dr Abass Ali among the vaccination team were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the health workers who have already got the COVID-19 vaccine jabs in the first phase of vaccination were given the second dose of the vaccine here at District Hospital, Kargil where 42 health workers got vaccinated on the first day.
The persons taking COVID-19 vaccination went through 3 phases- verification, vaccination and observation. After vaccination, the vaccine taker was kept under observation for half an hour. The vaccinated frontline and healthcare workers were also provided with a certificate after taking the vaccination.
