Jammu: 16 Feb 2021: Indian Army organized “Driving and Traffic Awareness Drive ” at Bhalla. Due to sudden increase in road accidents in Battalion area of responsibility, a need was felt to take up an initiative for road traffic safety and awareness drive. Indian Army at Bhadarwah in association with Traffic Police and JKP carried out a traffic awareness drive at main market, Bhalla. Amongst those present were Madan Singh (SI), S A Choudhary (ASI) and seven traffic police alongwith 52 local drivers, conductors and shopkeepers.
Drivers were informed about road symbols and road etiquettes. Mr Madan Singh (SI) JKP traffic police informed the drivers about the road marking and safety measures like wearing seat belts, helmet and to avoid drunken driving. He also informed about the offences related to road safety and the penalties thereof. In the end the event concluded with road safety booklet distribution drive.
