Leh, Feb 01, 2021: First Khedoth Yulsum Winter Camp concluded at Khyungru village yesterday. Dy. Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest and Thinles Nurbu from Cultural Academy, Leh as the guest of honour on the occasion.
Other important guests present on the occasion were Khenpo Konchok along with Nambardar and Sarpanch of Khedoth Yulsum.
The camp was initiated voluntarily by nine graduates of Khedoth Yulsum led by Stanzin Phandey. They have invited resource persons from Khedoth Yulsum itself to explore the historical, wildlife and traditional resources of the region. They also conducted responsibility time programme and a 10 days workshop in collaboration with Cultural Academy Leh.
Addressing the gathering, Dy. Chairman, Angchuk lauded the performances presented by the students and called it one of the best events he has witnessed so far in his political career. He also congratulated the organizers and mentors for successfully conducting the winter camp.
Dy. Chairman Angchuk also highlighted that the Education Department is also looking forward to introducing Social Emotional and Ethical (SEE) learning curriculum in all the schools soon. He assured Hill Council’s assistance with the people of Khedoth Yulsum in any developmental initiatives.
The camp was initiated with the motive of all-round development for the students which includes physical as well as mental development. The camp was conducted with fully residentially at Khyungru village keeping all the norms of Covid SOP for about 30 days.
