Jammu: Govt. Degree College Ramgarh organized 3 Days Online Faculty Development Program on
Information and Communication Technology Add-ons for effective Teaching, Learning &
Administration in Collaboration with Scrollwell EduTech LLP, Patna from 26 Dec.2020 to 28
Dec.2020 in which Hon’ble Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, Govt. of
Jammu and Kashmir, Jenab Talat Parvez Rohella was the Chief Patron and presided over the valedictory function held yesterday evening.
In the Valedictory session, while delivering the presidential address Jenab Talat Parvez Rohella
motivated and congratulated the Principal of the College and the organizers of the Program for
the successful completion of this FDP. He further highlighted the importance of ICT tools and
added that such programs will definitely bring a new change in the field of Higher Education. He
stressed upon the establishment of virtual Labs and organize such training programs through
various FDP’s, Online Workshops, Webinars for the maximum benefit of the stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, principal GDC Ramgarh highlighted that due
to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, almost all institutes across the globe are forced to change
their method of teaching& examination to online mode from their conventional face to face
delivery method. So, there is an abrupt need to redesign the instructional strategies for online and
distance learning. Keeping this in view, this program aims to enable academic fraternity to
efficiently perform teaching and administrative work online.
117 participants from all over India from 18 states had joined the FDP and effectively
participated with the resource persons Mr Roshan and Mr Kashish of Scrowllwell. On day one,
after the inaugural session, topics on how to collaborate, create, share and manage documents;
make classes interactive and send emails to groups was covered. On day 2, examination related
activities were elaborated. On a concluding day, how to represent ideas and concepts through
mind mapping and to give commands freely without any errors was discussed. Sessions were
followed by Q&A.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, this FDP was convened by Prof. Risha Kumari,
Assistant Professor Punjabi. Dr Sandeep Kumar was the co-convener of the FDP. The
organizing team comprised of Prof. Seema Sharma and Dr Shamsher Lal.
