5 Days Photography Workshop concludes in Kargil

KARGIL DECEMBER 23,2020: 5 Days Photography Workshop organized by Suru Valley Public Higher Secondary Schooln (SVPHSS) Kargil in collaboration with Art for Cause and Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) Academy concluded here today.

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Chief Education Officer Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma and Project Coordinator, Ladakh Ecological Development Group (LEDeG) Ajaz Hussain Munshi were the special guests on the occasion.

Despite sub zero temperature conditions ranging between -20 to -23 degree celsius, 53 students from 6th to 10th class of the school participated in the 5 days outdoor workshop, who were imparted training and skills by the mentors Indian Film Maker at 63rd Cannes Film Festival, 2010 Irshal Ishu and Youngest Photographer- North East India, 2016 Lobsang Nima about various aspects of photography like Knowing the Camera (DSLR), Types of Photography, Rules of Composition, Mobile Photography, Traditional Fashion Shoot and Editing.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC Kargil who also inaugurated a photo exhibition expressed his astonishment on the quality of photographs clicked by the young trainees. He appreciated the initiative taken by the organizers and asked the Chief Education Officer Kargil to take steps towards organizing similar skill based training programmes for youngsters in different schools in future.

CEC Khan assured that LAHDC, Kargil will extend all possible support for conduct of such creative and youth based skill development programmes in the district.

Later, the CEC along with other guests presented certificates of appreciation to the mentors and the partcipiating students.

Meanwhile, the school management presented a panoramic framed photograph of Kargil to the CEC and other guests.

Among others who were present on the occasion inlcuded Secretary, SVPHSS Nassir Shabani, Principal SVPHSS Ghulam Muhammad Khan, members of school management and staff members.
