Poonch, Nov 22 : Following the movement of a suspected “surveillance drone” over villages of Mendhar, forces have launched a cordon and search operations in several villages of Mendhar sub-division in Poonch district.

Officials sources told  that an aerial vehicle, suspected to be a “surveillance drone”, was seen flying over villages of Mendhar on Saturday evening.

“The drone entered the LoC from somewhere near Mendhar sector and made an exit over Tain Mankote after crossing over around five villages,” they said.

They said that it is suspected that it could be a part of air—dropping of weapons also.

They further informed that extensive searches have been jointly launched by the army and police in around half a dozen villages of Mendhar.

“Army troops reportedly fired some shots over this drone which also creates a suspicion that it could have fell somewhere for which searches are going on,” the officials informed—(KNO)
