We all have to work together to bring back the lost glory of Kashmir: DGP

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 08: Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh today inaugurated T-20 Police Premier League in Ganderbal District of Central Kashmir. The event dedicated to the martyr Mohammad Altaf Hussain is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).

IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, DC Ganderbal Shri Shafqat Iqbal, SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal, CO 115 Bn. CRPF Shri Pankaj Peter Shah, CO 118 Bn. Shri Anil Kumar Dhayni, , ASP Ganderbal Shri Feroz Yehya other senior Police, CRPF and Civil officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DGP paid rich tribute to the martyr Ct. Altaf Hussain and said that whole police Pariwar is proud of his sacrifice as he fought till his last breath and set an example of bravery and responsibility. He said Jammu and Kashmir police will provide all possible support to the family of martyr. He said water sports event “Jashn-e-Dal” that started yesterday has also been dedicated to martyr Altaf Hussain.

The DGP appreciated the efforts of SSP Ganderbal and his team for organizing the event and said that Police Headquarters would provide all possible support for channelizing the energy of youth towards the positive direction. He said that it has been always our effort to provide better platform to the youth interested in sports. The DGP said that aim of organizing cricket tournaments across Kashmir is to spot talent and prepare two teams each in South, North and Central Kashmir and finally a top Kashmir Eleven Team out of these Six. He added that J&K Police would like to provide support to this team to perform on National level. He also advised the participating teams to follow the health protocols during the event.

The DGP advised the youth to follow their dreams and work as messengers of peace for Jammu and Kashmir.

The DGP said that during the period of disturbance Kashmir lost a lot but this is the time when we all have to work together to bring back the lost glory of Kashmir. The DGP said that it is our mission to work for peace in J&K and to bring smiles back on the faces of people here and added that every single individual has to contribute in one way or the other for the peace and prosperous Kashmir.

The DGP said that youth has power for change and they should use their energy in positive activities so that peaceful and prosperous J&K is realised where there would be no place for destruction. He advised the youth to stay away from drugs as it not only disturbs the family life but society as well. The DGP also interacted with players on the occasion and wished them best on the field and off the field.
