Leh, October 03: The Honourable LG R.K. Mathur today expressed his happiness on the inauguration of the Atal Tunnel and conveyed his gratitude to the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Atal Tunnel which cuts through the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas at an altitude of 3000 metres above sea level reduces the road distance between Manali and Leh by 46km.
LG Mathur stated that this day is momentous for the entire country as it addresses a major infrastructure gap. “More so for the Union Territory of Ladakh, as it is the first step towards ensuring round-the-year connectivity with the rest of the country.”
