Gurez, Sep 15: The Army on Tuesday it has foiled an infiltration bid in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition during the operation.
Defence sources said that the operation was launched after suspicious movement notice at Budaab sector in Gurez on September 14. They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the group was challenged by the alert troops yesterday evening
“Contact was established and the suspected militants were fired upon by security forces. Aggressive and timely action by forces foiled an infiltration bid as militants went back leaving behind arms and ammunition,” the sources said.
During the joint search operation, following War like stores were recovered 1 US made assault rifle with 4 magazines & 135 rounds, 3 Pistols with 5 magazines and 120 rounds -1 GPS,- Cortex (4m), 4 Rucksacks. Sources added that the search operation is in progress in the area—(KNO)
