15 bovines rescued, bovines smuggler arrested district police Samba

Samba, 10th September 2020: In continuation to its drive against bovines smuggling, District Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 15 bovines and arrested a bovine smuggler at naka Rakh Barotian, NHW Vijaypur.

A Police Party of P/S Vijaypur, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka Rakh Barotian, NHW Vijaypur intercepted a truck bearing Regd. No. PB06L-2513 which was coming from Punjab and moving towards valley.

During checking of the said vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused person identified as driver Amanual S/o Barkat Massi R/O Aliwal Gurdaspur, Punajb has been arrested on spot.

All the bovines were rescued and shifted to Gaushala at P/S Ghagwal. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 155/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation taken up.
