Poll Rallies of Shah, DM, Rahul likely this week

Jammu, Sept 19: Ahead of the 2nd and 3rd phase of Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are visiting Jammu region once again on September 21 to garner support for the party candidates, even as UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also likely to address a poll rally on September 22.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also all set to visit Poonch’s Surankote on September 23.

As per the reports, Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Jammu on September 21 and is likely to address poll rallies in Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, Thannamandi and Akhnoor among others, over the two days.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address the rally in Sunderbani, RS Pora and Poonch, while BJP National President and Union Minister J.P Nadda will hold a road show in Jammu East.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also likely to address a poll rally in Jourian on September 22.

On the other hand, Congress leader and party’s star campaigner Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Jammu on September 23 and will address people in Surankote area of Poonch.

The voting for phases 2 and 3 is scheduled to be held on September 25 and October 1, respectively, while the counting of the votes will take place on October 8.

Senior leadership of both the BJP and Congress has been making a beeline in Jammu and Kashmir in view of the crucial polls that are being held in the erstwhile state.
