Kargil, Sept 19: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil hosted the District-level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition-2024 in Chhutuk, Kargil, bringing together students from 19 schools across the region. The event, centered around five key sub-themes—health, lifestyle for the environment, agriculture, communication and transport, and computational thinking—served as a platform for students to present their innovative science models.

Inaugurated by Executive Councilor for Education, LAHDC Kargil, Zakir Hussain, alongside Director Education Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, and Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kargil, S.D. Namgyail, the exhibition offered young minds a chance to showcase their creativity and scientific skills, with top performers earning the opportunity to compete at higher levels.

The Principal of DIET Kargil, Abdul Quyoom, welcomed all the participants and expressed gratitude to the guests for their support in making the event successful. In his speech, Director Education Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, praised the efforts of DIET Kargil for organizing the exhibition, emphasizing that such events foster scientific temper and creativity among students. CEO Kargil, S.D. Namgyail also commended the students and teachers, stating that the exhibition provided a valuable platform for young minds to share and display their innovative ideas.

The event saw active participation from students, who shared their experiences and demonstrated their projects. Certificates of appreciation and mementos were awarded to the top performers in each sub-theme, recognizing their excellence.

A total of 15 position holders from the exhibition will go on to represent Kargil in the Union Territory (UT) level Science Exhibition-2024, scheduled to be held in Leh on September 20. From there, top students will be selected to participate in the national-level exhibition after thorough evaluation by national experts.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by lecturer Dr. Wilayat Ali, expressing gratitude to all those involved in making the exhibition a success.
