Leh, Sept 15: In a spirited effort to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from EJM College Leh launched their Swachhta Abhiyan 2024 campaign this morning. The initiative began with a significant clean-up drive at the Sindhu Ghat area, where 35 enthusiastic students, supported by 3 dedicated NSS staff members, took to the task of beautifying the local environment.
The volunteers engaged in a thorough cleaning process, collecting and sorting waste to ensure a more sustainable disposal. The accumulated waste was then efficiently transported and disposed of using a municipal truck provided specifically for the drive.
The Swachhta Abhiyan 2024 is set to continue with a series of events under the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhta Sanskaar Swachhta’, emphasizing the values of cleanliness and environmental stewardship. The upcoming events will further the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of cleanliness and responsibility within the community.
The drive at Sindhu Ghat marks the beginning of what promises to be a series of impactful activities aimed at enhancing public awareness and participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
