Leh, Sept 12: Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve in an important meeting chaired today the DC Office took significant steps to address long-pending personnel matters by reviewing departmental promotions and compassionate appointments under SRO-43. The meeting, held in the VC Room, focused on streamlining administrative processes across the district, ensuring timely career advancements and addressing the needs of bereaved families of government employees.
During the session, a total of 97 Time Bound Promotions were approved, along with three functional promotions across various departments. The Medical Department led the list, with 52 employees receiving Time Bound Promotions, followed by 25 in the Education Department. Other notable approvals included 10 promotions within the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and four in the Sheep Husbandry Department.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed six cases of Compassionate Appointments under SRO-43, which allows family members of government employees who pass away during service to be considered for employment. Sukhadeve emphasized the need for a thorough review of these cases, directing officials to ensure that all necessary criteria were met before appointments are finalized.
Additionally, Santosh Sukhadeve instructed all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to prioritize the timely submission of promotion cases, highlighting the importance of avoiding delays in the process.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Employment Leh, Delex Namgyal, Headquarter Assistant Nilza Angmo, and other senior officials from various departments. The decisions taken are expected to boost employee morale and efficiency in public administration, offering long-awaited career progression and addressing personnel concerns.
