Jammu, Sept 12: In a series of election meetings held across Panchayat Dharap, Bour Camp, Bour Pind, Rohi Morh, Digiana, and Shiv Nagar, former Minister and Congress leader Raman Bhalla launched a sharp attack on the BJP government, accusing it of failing to address the pressing issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Accompanied by prominent Congress leaders such as Sarpanch Kashmir Singh, JKPCC General Secretary Satish Sharma, and Block President Amrit Bali, Bhalla spoke passionately about the economic and social challenges that the region is enduring under the BJP government. He criticized the government for what he described as a “lack of vision” and its inability to provide jobs, affordable living, and basic services.
Bhalla highlighted the growing unemployment crisis, emphasizing that thousands of educated youths are jobless despite their families’ significant investments in education. He accused the BJP of nepotism and favoritism in government job selections, leaving many eligible candidates struggling to secure employment.
“The BJP government has brought nothing but misery through unprecedented price hikes and heavy taxation, affecting the poor, the middle class, and the unemployed. This needs to change,” Bhalla declared, pledging that Congress would reverse these policies if voted back into power.
In his speech, Bhalla emphasized the Congress party’s legacy of uplifting marginalized and downtrodden communities, stating that the party had always prioritized their participation in every aspect of governance. He contrasted this with the BJP’s “divisive politics,” accusing the ruling party of making hollow promises while failing to deliver on essential services such as electricity, water, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He promised that a Congress-NC coalition government would resolve the long-standing issues plaguing Jammu and Kashmir and criticized the BJP’s ten-year rule in the region, calling it the “darkest period” in J&K’s political history. Bhalla assured voters that all their concerns would be addressed after the October 8 elections.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve better, and it’s time to hold the BJP accountable for its deceitful tactics and failure to serve the people,” Bhalla concluded, urging voters to choose change in the upcoming elections.
