Kargil, Sept 11: Hakima Khatoon, the newly appointed Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, was greeted with resounding enthusiasm and support during her inaugural visit to her home Sub Division, Shakar Chiktan. Accompanied by prominent BJP leaders, including Senior BJP Leader and Chairman of the Haj Committee Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, Senior BJP Leader Kacho Gulzar Hussain, BJP President Mohd Ali Chandan, her husband and BJP Leader Kacho Shamim Ahmad, and other senior party members, Khatoon’s arrival was marked by grand celebrations.
The reception commenced on the journey from Kargil to Shakar, where large crowds gathered to offer traditional Khataks—a symbol of respect and welcome. The jubilant atmosphere continued upon Khatoon’s arrival in Shakar, where a significant rally was organized by the BJP Shakar Chiktan unit. The event saw thousands of supporters come out to demonstrate their solidarity and support for their new Councillor.
In her address to the gathered supporters, Hakima Khatoon expressed her heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Brigadier Dr. BD Mishra, BJP President UT Ladakh, and other senior party leaders for their trust and support. She pledged to dedicate herself to the development of the region, emphasizing her commitment to advancing the welfare and progress of Shakar Chiktan and Kargil.
