Leh, Sept 10: The Department of Mass Communication & Journalism at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh, in partnership with Charkha Communication Network, Delhi, successfully concluded its four-day puppetry-making and stop-motion animation workshop.
Held from September 3-6, the workshop was designed to refine the creative and technical storytelling skills of journalism students. Over the course of the event, participants were engaged in hands-on sessions that combined artistic techniques with technical expertise.
The final day of the workshop showcased a student-led puppetry performance, featuring skits on pressing social issues including Eve-teasing, Menstrual Awareness, Climate Change, Agriculture, and Lack of Transportation. The event drew an audience of over 30 students from various departments, along with faculty members, all of whom were impressed by the insightful and impactful presentations.
Principal Dr. Samina Iqbal commended both the Mass Communication & Journalism students and the Charkha Foundation for their commitment to addressing significant societal issues through innovative and creative mediums.
In his vote of thanks, Assistant Professor Mohammad Ali Khan expressed his deep appreciation to the resource people, students, and faculty for their collective efforts, which contributed to the success of the workshop.
