Leh, Sept 10: A delegation from the Turtuk-Bogdang region met with the Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, at the Council Secretariat today. During the meeting, the delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to the administration for the creation of a new district, a move they hailed as pivotal for advancing regional development and governance.
Representing the residents of the Turtuk-Bogdang region, the delegation acknowledged the positive impact that the new district will have on infrastructure, resources, and overall growth. They noted that this decision will significantly boost local governance and enhance service delivery across the region.
The delegation further requested assistance from the CEC for the construction of a new mosque in the area. This request, they explained, was in response to the growing needs of the local Muslim community, which has long sought an expanded place of worship to accommodate its religious and social activities.
After listening patiently to the delegation’s concerns and proposals, Hill Council Executive Councillor (H’CEC) Tashi Gyalson assured the representatives that their request for the construction of a mosque would be carefully considered. He acknowledged the significance of supporting local community projects and emphasized the Council’s commitment to addressing the needs of all communities in the region. Further discussions and evaluations will take place to ensure the region’s needs are fully met.
