Kargil, Sept 05: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kargil, has announced that the 3rd National Lok-Adalat of 2024 will be held on September 14, 2024. In preparation for the event, Pre Lok-Adalat sessions will be conducted from September 11 to 13, 2024, across all courts in District Kargil.

The event aims to provide an opportunity for citizens to resolve their legal disputes through amicable settlements. In preparation for the Lok-Adalat, pre-Lok-Adalat sessions will be held from September 11 to September 13, 2024, across all courts in the Kargil district.

The Lok-Adalat will address a wide range of disputes, both at the pre-litigation stage and those already pending in court. The matters will be categorized into two broad groups including cases related to the Negotiable Instruments NI Act Cases under Section 138 (pertaining to cheque dishonoring), Money Recovery Cases, Labour and Employment Dispute Cases, Electricity and Water Bill and Other Bill Payment Cases (excluding non-compoundable cases), Maintenance Cases and Other Civil and Criminal Compoundable Disputes.

The second group include several pending court cases such as Criminal Compoundable Matters, NI Act Cases under Section 138, Money Recovery Cases, MACT Cases (Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal cases), Labour and Employment Dispute Cases, Electricity and Water Bill and Other Payment Cases (excluding non-compoundable cases), Matrimonial Disputes, Land Acquisition Cases (pending before civil courts and tribunals). In addition Revenue Cases (pending in district and subordinate courts), and Other Civil Disputes including rent, easementary rights, injunction suits, and performance suits.

The Lok-Adalat provides an opportunity for litigants to resolve their cases amicably, saving both time and resources. The DLSA has invited all interested parties to refer their disputes to the Lok-Adalat sessions for swift and cost-effective settlements.
