Kargil, Sept 06: A transformative three-day capacity-building program for dairy and apricot farmers from various blocks of Kargil wrapped up today with a ceremony marking the conclusion of the event. Held at the Conference Hall, Baroo Kargil, the program, organized by the District Skill Committee Kargil in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Departments, aimed to enhance local farmers’ skills and knowledge in modern dairy production and livestock management.

Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hadi graced the concluding ceremony as the chief guest. He was joined by Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Kargil, and Mohd Zaffar, Chief Horticulture Officer, who served as guests of honor. Also present were Kinzang Angmo, Mohd Ali, Mohd Mukhtar Khan, and Sr. Instructor ITI Hajira, alongside resources persons Jaswan Singh Kalsi, Chief Operating Officer (CEASI), Dr. Ritu Sharma, Head of Operations (CEHSI), Dr. Neena Chauhan, Assistant Professor (RRSH), and Assistant Manager (CEDSI) Kritika.

In his address, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hadi welcomed the esteemed experts from the Center of Excellence for Agriculture and Horticulture under Skill Development India. He expressed his gratitude to the doctors and officials from the Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Departments for their active involvement in the training sessions. Hadi assured the trainees that future sessions would be organized and emphasized that their feedback would be taken into account by the district administration.

Dr. Gulzar Hussain extended his appreciation to the visiting experts for their commitment and valuable contributions, highlighting the significance of such collaborations in delivering high-quality training and insights to the region. He also thanked the District Skill Development Committee for their efforts in organizing the program, which focused on advancing dairy development.

Mohd Zaffar, Chief Horticulture Officer, emphasized the crucial role of such initiatives in empowering farmers and enhancing their skills, which in turn supports the overall growth of the horticulture sector in Kargil. He commended the trainees for their dedication and participation despite their busy schedules, acknowledging their commitment to improving their livelihoods.

The program blended theoretical learning with practical demonstrations, ensuring that participants gained both conceptual knowledge and hands-on experience. At the end of the sessions, certificates were distributed to the farmers based on their assessments, marking a successful conclusion to a highly impactful event.
