Leh, Sept 03: The Department of History at the University of Ladakh (UoL), Leh Campus, participated in a significant seminar titled “Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh through the Ages,” held at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) campus in Choglamsar.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Indian Council for Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Jammu Kashmir Study Circle and CIBS Leh. The event saw active participation from prominent scholars, historians, and researchers from Ladakh and other regions. Dr. Phunstog Angmo and Dr. Rinchen Dolma, both faculty members from the History department, along with Stanzin Kunzang, a student of the department, presented their research papers focusing on the rich and diverse history of the region.

Their presentations were well-received and contributed to the academic discourse surrounding the historical developments in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. The seminar aimed to shed light on the unique historical trajectories of these regions and foster a deeper understanding of their cultural and historical significance.

Members of the ICHR, the Jammu Kashmir Study Circle, and the faculty of CIBS Leh were in attendance, adding to the scholarly exchange of ideas. The event served as a platform for intellectual engagement and collaboration among historians, with the goal of preserving and promoting the heritage of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
