Kargil, Sept 04: The Department of Commerce at Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, in partnership with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), successfully organized a seminar on financial literacy today. The event, aimed at enhancing the financial awareness of both students and staff, focused on critical areas such as investment strategies and the role of regulatory bodies in the financial sector.

Shabir Hussain, Assistant Professor in the Commerce Department, expertly anchored the seminar, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees. The event began with a warm welcome from Tinless Chondol, Assistant Professor of Commerce, who set a positive and engaging tone for the proceedings.

The highlight of the seminar was a keynote address delivered by Hakim Billal, a seasoned expert and trainer from the National Stock Exchange. Billal’s presentation offered deep insights into the financial markets, covering essential topics such as the role of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in protecting investors, an introduction to the capital market, and various investment avenues, with a particular focus on mutual funds. His session was both informative and engaging, providing participants with a solid understanding of financial markets and effective investment strategies.

The seminar concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Jigmet Yangdool, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Jigmet expressed gratitude to Hakim Billal for his valuable contribution and to all participants for their active involvement throughout the event.

This seminar is a testament to GDC Kargil’s ongoing commitment to promoting financial literacy among its students and staff, equipping them with the knowledge necessary to navigate the complex financial landscape confidently.
