- Training programme on Postal Ballot, ETPBS & counting procedures held
Udhampur, Sept 03: In a bid to ensure the smooth conduct of the General Assembly Election 2024, District Election Officer (DEO) Saloni Rai has called for a proactive approach from all election officers. The DEO’s directive came during a comprehensive one-day training programme organized by the District Election Authority.
The training, held in the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, was designed to address critical aspects of the election process, including postal ballots, ETPBS (Electronic Transmission of Postal Ballots), and counting procedures. The session commenced with an in-depth PowerPoint presentation by Anish Sharma, District Informatics Officer NIC. Sharma’s presentation outlined essential processes such as the scanning and validation of e-postal ballots, the procedures for opening strong rooms, and the overall vote counting process in the counting hall.
A significant focus of the training was the ETPBS and the handling of votes received through postal ballots. Officers and officials were given detailed instructions on the entire postal ballot process, including the submission of Form 12-D and other vital formalities.
DEO Saloni Rai emphasized the importance of diligence and coordination, urging all officers to carry out their tasks with utmost efficiency and maintain close collaboration with line departments. “It is crucial that every officer executes their assigned responsibilities with precision and stays in close communication with their counterparts in line departments to ensure a seamless election process,” Rai said.
The training program aims to equip all involved personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle the complexities of the upcoming elections, ensuring a transparent and well-organized election process for the district.
